The Relaxed Person Wins

Roger Federer, widely considered the greatest mens tennis player of all time (winner of 20 Grand Slams) had a secret weapon. Was it a thundering serve? A punishing down-the-line forehand? No...it was staying loose and relaxed!

Watch him play in the video below and you'll seen what I mean. The guy had a look on his face that could have been mistaken for debating whether he should get a burger at In-N-Out after the match, or at ShakeShack. He looked that relaxed.

“Once you find that peace, that place of peace and quiet, harmony and confidence, that’s when you start playing your best.” - Roger Federer

Why is this important for me? The relaxed person usually wins, gets to play longer, and is happier to boot. Roger believed he had a significant edge on the competition due to the "extra millisecond" he created by playing this way. It may not seem like much, but it makes all the difference in the world when creating composure, accuracy, and room to think. Now relax those joints, muscles, and most importantly mind. Commit to a "test" today to do an activity (work, sport, etc) like a relaxed wet noodle instead of a tightly wound ball of muscle. Note the differences. I think you'll find some really exciting positives.

“Sometimes the most productive thing you can do is relax.” – Mark Black
